Photography on the rise
The End is near
Hello all, once again sorry for the silence around here. An artist never quits and once they find a hobby or a project, they won't stop in the middle of it. I myself love finding new art to put into my life or on my belt and will never stop to find a new category or niche. Sorry for the title here, but the year is almost up and I haven't updated this blog since the beginning of this year.. hence the title. Now back to the update!
Getting adjusted
This year I dabbled here and there with photography. Was trying to learn it on my own while wanting to attend schools for a degree on it, to just checking out articles and youtube videos on it, especially on Landscape photography. Luckily I have a great friend of mine that works with me and has gone to school for it. We are in the same page, per se in life, and she knows that I am serious enough to want to learn it more and more everyday. She has been teaching me at work everything she knows of photography and what she had learned in the classes she took, all of course when having down time at work. She loves teaching and well I need both reading and visual to get it all. All in all, hopefully things work out well for both of us and I can learn while helping with her in photo shoots as her assistant, if not then it's ok too.
Landscape to Portraits
I am and possibly always be a Landscape photographer, but my husband and with tips from my friend, my husband did get me a new lens for Christmas. My friend told me that if I wanted to get some experience with portrait photography and advance a bit more with photography in general or just expand my photography in general, then she told me to get another lens. My husband got me a Nikon AF-S 50mm: 1:1.8G lens. I also recently had a photo shoot and used this lens and wow, how beautiful did my photos come out after just hitting the button. I'll keep doing Landscape, but I think I'll give Portraits as a substitute or minor "degree". But let me demonstrate what this lens does.
It gives you more of a blur in your backgrounds!! Yes in the above example I already did edit the photo and yes its my husband as the model. I wanted to get a small practice before the actual shoot and I'm glad I did. What I edited in it? Took away the green sign by his right shoulder, took away some fly aways of his hair, took away acne too or any blemishes/marks that aren't natural and of course adjusted colors. The final result:
I'm sure I can fix it up more, but for now with the skills I know, it works for me. I love my new lens and I hope to use it more often somehow. Hopefully I can fix or get better in removing items or anything with the spot removal tool in Lightroom. I think I am doing better with it, but will need more practice. If possible I will try to take classes for Lightroom in the next new year or learn it on my own. I would like it to be a career, but there's competition out there and hopefully my name is known among Landscape photographers. Until then I will practice with books, videos, anyone or anything I can find about the topic... I will get better at it!

Also I have updated my website too! The host I was with had limitations and wouldn't let me add more content to show all of my work, writing included, so I went with Wix. I will try to shorten to link to my site in the months or year to come. I also created a twitter account for my label/company, so please check them out and I hope you Follow me in Twitter and see my new site, Thanks!
