On a digital roll

Welcome all or to whoever does read these posts. I Thank you for doing so and I hope you continue. Well, as of late there have been some changes around here, if you didn't realize, but I will point them out better for everyone to be able to see them clearer.

Layout
I have recently changed the layout on my blog. No, the photo you see as the background is not taken by me. All the credit goes to the appropriate person or people. I might change it to one of mine, but for now I will keep it this way. I also did remove one section that was called "Laptop Covers". Why I did it is because I hardly did any of them recently and the small business, if you can call it that, did not go anywhere. The designs or logos that were available weren't mine and I did not want to get into trouble in any shape or form. If ironically you still want one made by me, with a specific look or theme in mind, do not hesitate to contact me. I did recently create an email specifically for my blog and for mainly my site, so you can reach me here for any questions or concerns.

C2E2 & Chicago
I recently traveled to visit my family and also attend a convention called The Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo, or C2E2 for short. While visiting I did best to take more photos of Downtown Chicago and of course, during the convention, the cosplays that to me seemed worthy to shoot. When I mean worthy, I mean I knew you took your time and dedication in making your costume. I just don't randomly like nor shoot costumes/cosplay that are last minute put togethers. Yes, that means the face painted, hoodie imprinted logos, and well quite possibly a bag or cheap random mask or box over your head or face. I love taking pictures, don't get me wrong, but I love taking pictures of people who enjoy taking their time getting their costumes right and if it took you over 20+ hours to days to make it, then be proud of yourself for accomplishing that and also letting the world to see them and take a photo of your creation. Hopefully most of the photos that I took while I attended were that type or to my eyes they were and I got a shot of you.

Hopefully all these shots will be edited and displayed soon in my Facebook page and well in my website of course. I know it will be over 100+ photos combined, Downtown Chicago and Cosplays, so it will take me time to pick the perfect shots and then edit them. I am still learning to edit and well at the same time shoot said photos. Lighting and the environment make a big impact and impression when a photographer takes a photo. Unfortunately, I only attended one day of the convention and that was Saturday, so if you stumbled upon my blog and you attended C2E2 and were in cosplay, well I hope I took your photo! If you would like to take a copy of your photo, let me know on my Facebook page and I will send you one with no watermark, if that's your desire.

Events
I also recently was invited to a wedding of a friend of my husbands and technically my friend now too of course. Way before the wedding occurred I asked if I can take photos to practice and also to add to my portfolio and the couple or at least the bride told me that it was ok. Later on they told me the story of what happened with their photographer and so on. When the wedding happened, they did have a photographer, a last minute one it seemed and by golly I am glad I took the photos I did and stayed till the end of the event. I believe, whole heartedly, that the photographer that did go only took 20 photos total and no changes in lenses took place. I already delivered the photos and they loved them to pieces. They did pick about 70ish photos and I took over 100, so it did take time to edit all of them. As of now, I have not seen the photos the other photographer produced, but most of my photos I got I thought of getting and oddly enough, their actual photographer seemed [to me at least] to get in my way of some of the photos I took, literally and physically. Hence forth, I am glad I took the photos I took and saved the day! I did hesitate in the beginning to step boundaries with said other photographer, but it was their wedding and if they gave me permission to take photos, then it's all good. For some samples of the photos that I took of the wedding check them out in my Facebook Page! I will upload them there soon!

Looking back on how I treated everything while taking pictures, how fun I was having, and what I produced I am almost feeling to have my minor in Wedding Photography. My major being Landscape, but you need to have your own style with any picture you take, but with Landscape Photography its almost a limited audience or market, it doesn't go too far. I will not limit myself to one specific event or genre of Photography. If you limit yourself to one in particular, you just might miss out on some fun and quite possibly see what you are capable of doing. I am still in the learning process, I know I'm not a pro nor am I calling myself that, but I will get there one step and day at at time. With this in mind, I think I will venture into Wedding Photography and my husband, God Bless him, is willing to join me into making it a business. I will be the creative side of it, while he works the books and setting up everything; be my assistant basically. He is better with numbers and money and slight negotiation, if needed, and after I have been in front of a computer editing, he is willing to stick a little longer in it for me. We will find common ground, build our way up, and work as a team.

Classes
Since I am not a pro yet, but would like to be, I am deciding that this year will be the year for me to take classes. I have already make a line up on which classes I will be taking and when. I believe I have one if not two in this month of May and others will trickle here and there in the coming months. All the classes I will be taking are from Precision Camera, a local camera/photography store in Austin. All are reasonable prices for me and from professionals. I have no money and time to attend a college, plus I do not want more loans on my belt. Hopefully they will add more than the ones that I already have decided on attending already.

I have yet to learn many new techniques and ways for shooting and editing, but I will not stop or limit myself to any and every type of genre of photography that is out there. While figuring all this out, might as well build my portfolio at the same time and let others know that I am willing to take any type of shoot that they throw at me. To follow my journey on this, follow/like my Facebook page and Instagram! I do add my newest and latest photos in my website, but I try to limit myself there in examples.

Writing
So, at work I am very limited on what I can do, but I also have lots of down time, which basically sucks for me. If I have the time in the world, while at work, just waiting for a call to come in, then I should be able to do other things right? Wrong! I can't and shouldn't be doing this, I am not allowed to be on the internet unless its work related. I have tried with help of a fellow coworker to get Lightroom 5 going and working on these computers, but to no avail. If I did have it working for me, you bet your bottom that I would be working on my photos constantly and get them done. When I get home, I can't do any of that since we have a dog, a cute one at that, that loves attention and requires it as well. Anywho, I have been writing during my time at work. I don't like doing research on subjects or topics for the book idea in mind, so I decided to write of what I know... which is myself. Yes, you guessed it, I am writing an autobiography of myself. Its what I know, so why not and if I have the time in the world while I am at work, then do it! I am still writing in it and not sure how many chapters it will have in complete form, but I believe I do have up to 5 Chapters already. Maybe my goal is 10 chapters since my life hasn't been that interesting, but I will put in my 2 cents in there from time to time. I also did this because I recently saw "13 Reasons Why" on Netflix and I do recommend seeing it, but if anything ever does happen to me, then my kids or whoever would be able to read what I went through. Maybe, just maybe you might find your name in there, possibly altered, possibly not, you will just have to wait to find out! Thanks for reading!
